EARLY ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT

The Right Start Makes All the Difference.

Phase 1 orthodontic treatment between ages 7–10 guides jaw development, prevents extractions, and sets the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.

WHAT WE TREAT

What Is Early Orthodontic Treatment?

Early treatment — also called Phase 1 — is recommended for children aged 7–10 before all permanent teeth have erupted. Some bite and jaw issues respond far better when the jaw is still growing. Phase 1 can correct crossbites, underbites, and severe crowding — often reducing the complexity of Phase 2 treatment significantly.

WHO IT HELPS

Signs Your Child May Need Early Treatment

Early or Late Baby Tooth Loss

Losing teeth too early or too late causes permanent teeth to drift — early intervention holds space.

Crossbite or Underbite

Jaw misalignment issues that are far easier to correct while the jaw is still actively growing.

Severe Crowding

Not enough space for incoming permanent teeth — early action prevents future impactions.

HOW IT WORKS

Your Child's Early Treatment Journey

01

Initial Evaluation

We assess jaw development, bite alignment, and space for incoming teeth.

02

Phase 1 Treatment

Expanders or partial braces guide jaw growth. Typically 9–18 months.

03

Observation Period

We monitor permanent teeth as they erupt. Most children enjoy a rest between phases.

04

Phase 2 (If Needed)

Full braces or aligners may follow — often shorter and simpler after Phase 1.
